Mini Split AC
Now the mini split ac is like a little portable air conditioner but then these can be installed in your houses. Sometimes these can also be known as the ductless air conditioner. This is a kind of a mix between a portable unit and the central ac unit. Now you basically call it a split ac since there are two separate units, a compressor which is kept outside of your house and the one that is on the wall is called the air handler. Sometimes you will even find models which have one or more handlers with only one compressor.
Now everyone can tell what the main advantage of having a mini split ac is. The number one advantage is the fact that it is very flexible and that is has a very compact size. Now the flexibility comes in the fact that they can cool down single rooms. You can find models which have as many as four air handling units which have only a single outdoor unit. So four of these air handling units can cool down or even heat up four different rooms!
But then there are disadvantages too. It's very cumbersome installing all these units. You have to have accurate measurements and the placement should be very good too. If you place it somewhere, where it shouldn't be then you will just land up wasting more energy and your temperature also won't be controlled properly.
Now the best thing you should do in order to save up on the money is to set a very soothing temperature first. Don't have it set very high or very low this will cause the ac to turn on and off and this way you waste money. Now if you are using the mini split ac to keep you warm in the winter then you have to make sure that any little crack through which cold wind comes, is sealed off. If the cracks are present then the room won't get heated.
You should also make sure that you know everything about the mini split ac. You can even talk to the dealer or the service center for some help if you need it. You should also clean up the ducts of the ac properly, this way your ac will be running smoothly and you won't have to go through overhead costs.
